Supported Independent Living (SIL) assists you to live as independently as possible.
It is often suited for people who have higher needs such as overnight support (active or inactive) and assistance with daily tasks such as personal care and cooking/feeding. You can access SIL funding if you live in shared accommodation or by yourself in a home that is best suited to the needs you have. This may mean living in your own home under SIL funding or in a registered SDA ( Specialist Disability Accommodation). McArthur Community Care can support you in your own home or in one of our specialty homes.

Flexibility – ensuring you have Choice and Control.
McArthur Community Care has access to a number of homes and Property Managers as well as having current properties with vacancies that may be suitable. Please ask for an update and if needed we can source something that is more appropriate or in a location of your choice.
Respite Support.
Both in-home and out of home care is available with 24/7 staffing while your primary carer takes a break or while you decide if moving to specialist accommodation is what you want.
What is Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)?
A range of housing (bricks and mortar) designed for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. SDA dwellings have accessible features built into them to assist people to live a more independent life, allowing supports to be provided in a targeted and safe manner.
McArthur Community Care works with Property Managers to secure housing for individuals when nominated as the preferred SIL (Supported independent Living) provider. We currently have homes in a variety of locations with vacancies, however, should you wish to live in an area where we do not have a vacancy, we can assist to source a property for you depending on your funding.
A participant must have both SDA and SIL funding in place for this type of support. Please have a look at our homes and vacancies then call us for a confidential chat on how we can assist.
